Conductor can edit an agent you already have, not just build new ones. You describe the changes, review what’s different from the live agent, and update it.

Opening an agent in Conductor

Click Refine with Conductor on any voice or chat agent’s page, or choose Refine an agent from the + menu on the build form. The build page opens with the agent’s current configuration, and the Preview shows what you’ve changed compared with the live agent. Ask for changes the same way as in a new build — see Working with Conductor. Changes that need approval arrive as review cards.

What you can’t change

In refine mode you can’t:
  • Switch the agent between chat and voice.
  • Switch between single prompt and multi prompt.
  • Reference another agent.
  • Empty the system prompt — ask Conductor to rewrite it instead.
Archived agents can’t be refined.

Updating the agent

When you’re happy with the changes, click Update agent. The Review changes before they go live dialog shows each changed section; if review cards are still open, resolve them first.
Updates apply to the agent as soon as you confirm. If the agent is active, live calls and chats start using the new configuration immediately.

When someone else edits the agent

Someone else might change the agent while you’re refining it — for example, a teammate edits it on the agent page. When that happens, you’ll see a message saying The underlying agent changed while you were editing.
  1. Click Sync changes to add their changes to your draft.
  2. If you both changed the same thing, a Resolve conflicts window opens. For each one, choose whose version to keep: Keep my edit keeps yours, and Take upstream keeps theirs.
  3. Click Apply resolutions.
You can’t click Update agent until you’ve made a choice for every conflict.
